Mamacitas Cafe is a women-owned and youth-operated social enterprise and specialty foods business based in Oakland, CA. Mamacitas offers catering and delivery packages to clients throughout the Bay Area and hires systems-impacted girls ages 16-24 to assist with and manage all aspects of the business. Mamacitas provides a much-needed space for young women in Oakland who have been negatively impacted by various institutional systems, and provides gainful employment in an environment that is uniquely created with their needs in mind.

Our partnership is built on friendship and a real love for Oakland; Co-Founders Renee Geesler and Shana Lancaster have known both Keba Konte and Kori Chen of Red Bay for over 15 years! Our core values to create jobs and provide training for people facing significant barriers to employment is in deep alignment with Red Bay. And, depending on a staff member’s interest and skill set, it is common and encouraged for our employees to pursue advanced training and employment at Red Bay.

Mamacitas Cafe’s signature item is our ‘Donut Kebab’ which we fry onsite at parties, events, and festivals. Our most popular flavors include Cardamom, Nutella Churro and Brown Butter Banana. Mamacitas also delivers breakfast and lunch packages featuring unique comfort foods like sweet and savory porridge bowls, housemade pastries and locally roasted Red Bay Coffee!
