Black Owned
Red Bay Coffee is proudly Black-owned and founded, rooted in a legacy of resilience, creativity, and community empowerment. Since day one, we’ve challenged the status quo of the specialty coffee industry—an industry where Black people have historically been excluded, despite being the backbone of global coffee production. Led by artist and entrepreneur Keba Konte, Red Bay is reclaiming space in every part of the coffee journey, from farm to cup to boardroom. Our mission is not only to serve exceptional coffee, but to model what equity, ownership, and representation look like in action.
B Corp
Since Red Bay Coffee was founded in 2014, we’ve had a firm commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The B Corp certifies that we uphold our values by:
- Paying a premium to our coffee producers - we pay more than double the market price
- Responsibly sourcing our coffee through direct and/or fair trade and working with women-owned cooperatives
- Creating sustainable practices with our farm partners
- Hiring people who have traditionally been left out of the specialty coffee industry, especially people of color, the formerly incarcerated, women, and people with disabilities
- Donating coffee and venue space to schools and nonprofits
