This Is America | Bolivian Dark Roast
This Is America | Bolivian Dark Roast
Plum, Almond, S’mores
This Is America is a rich, full-bodied dark roast with notes of ripe plum, toasted almond, and sweet s’mores. Grown at high elevation in Bolivia’s Caranavi region, this coffee balances deep roast character with a clean, distinctive cup.
THE COFFEE
This coffee comes from Finca Rosita, a 32-hectare, family-run farm in the Illimani community of Caranavi, Bolivia. Owned and operated by multiple generations of the Valverde-Aramayo family, the farm is named in honor of their matriarch, Rosa Angelica Aramayo.
Finca Rosita is dedicated exclusively to coffee, with individual plots for varieties including Java, Catuai, Gesha, Typica, and Pink Bourbon. This lot features Catuai, grown at high elevation and traditionally washed before being dried on patios. The process creates a clean cup that lets the coffee’s plum sweetness, almond nuttiness, and s’mores-like finish come through.
ORIGIN
Bolivia has a coffee-growing history dating back to the 1920s. Its mountainous terrain has historically made coffee transportation and export challenging, while those same growing conditions help create the distinctive character found in Bolivian specialty coffees.
