Bayganda Mug
We're so excited to be bringing back these beautiful BayGanda Mugs in new designs. These are limited edition handcrafted mugs made by Moses Byentaro, an artist from Uganda. These one-of-a-kind black pottery mugs are a representation of Byentaro's heritage and culture, and each piece is handmade and fired in his local village of Mukono, a small agricultural community in Kampala.
But these mugs are more than just beautiful pieces of art. When you purchase a BayGanda mug from Red Bay Coffee, you're supporting the education and empowerment of young girls in Uganda. Your purchase directly gives back to the BayGanda Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides access to education for girls in Uganda. The BayGanda Foundation is led by Bay Area native Erica Varize, who has been traveling to Uganda for the last 17 years teaching her award-winning Sew What curriculum and ensuring the well-being and safety of the children. Currently, the foundation sponsors the education of 26 girls to attend boarding school in Uganda, providing them with the opportunity to access education that they might not otherwise have.
